Dennis Dunn
Head Coach
2nd Year
Dennis Dunn enters his first year as the head football coach at
Louisiana College. Dunn comes to Louisiana College with one of the
most impressive resumes in Louisiana high school football coaching
history. Dunn began his head-coaching career at Woodlawn High School
in Shreveport. Dunn led Woodlawn to three district championships
and the state playoffs all five years of his tenure. In 1992, Dunn
took over at Evangel Christian Academy and turned the Eagles into
one of the most successful high school programs in the nation. During
his 14 years at Evangel, his teams won 13 district championships,
nine state championships (3 each in class 1A, 3A, and 5A), and one
USA Today national championship in 1999. Dunn also coached 19 All-Americans
at Evangel. Dunn’s overall high school coaching record was
a staggering 200-39.

Vance Morris
Director of Football Operations
7th Year
Coach Morris returns to the LC football program after a year hiatus.
As the Director of Football Operations, Morris will handle the day-to-day
activities and oversee campus rucruiting. Morris also oversees the
spring football coaches clinic. Morris brings over 40 years of coaching
experience, including stints at the University of Missouri and Austin
College.

Buck Buchanan
Defensive Coordinator/Defensive
Line, Wildcat Football
8th Year
Buck Buchanan, who holds both bachelor's and master's degrees from
Austin College, will begin his sixth season at LC. Before coming
to Louisiana College, Buchanan worked at AC with both the football
and women's basketball programs. While a player at AC, Buchanan
accumulated a list of defensive awards and accolades.
Buchanan has seen his defensive linemen earn all-conference honors
six times. Buck and his wife, Michelle, reside in Pineville.

Sherard Poteete
Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks
3rd Year
Poteete is back for his second stint on the Wildcat coaching staff. Poteete served as an assistant (wide receivers) at LC previously from 2003-2004. Poteete was a four-year starter at quarterback for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. He finished his collegiate career at Southern Illinois University and played professionally for four seasons professionally; three for the Bossier City Battlewings and one for the Columbus Wardogs. In Columbus, he was coached by former NFL stars Pat Tilley and John Fourcade. Poteete still holds several records for NEO, SIU, and Columbus.
Poteete is married to the former Miss Jamie Campbell. They have two children and reside in Deville, La.

Marvin Hall
Offensive Line, Wildcat Football
2nd Year
Marvin Hall is in second first year as a member of the Louisiana
College football coaching staff. Hall will work on the defensive
side of the ball with the defensive line. Hall brings vast knowledge
of football to LC after coaching on the high school level for the
last 11 years. For the last three years (2002-2004) Hall has been
the head coach of Tioga High School in Tioga, La. Hall was also
the head powerlifting coach at Tioga.
Hall played during the 1980 and 1981 seasons at Northeast Louisiana
University (now the University of Louisiana-Monroe). Hall received
his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State in 1994, and
his master’s degree from Northwestern State in 2002. He and
his wife, Rochelle, reside in Pineville with their son, Marvin Jr.,
and daughter, Kennedy.

Wayne Davis
Running Backs, Wildcat Football
3rd Year
Wayne Davis begins his third year on the Louisiana College coaching
staff after one of the most successful football careers in Louisiana
College history. Davis, who finished his playing career for the
Wildcats in 2003, became the American Southwest Conference all-time
leading rusher (at the time) after rushing for 3,468 yards during
his Louisiana College career. Davis also set a Louisiana collegiate
and American Southwest Conference single game record with 322 yards
rushing against McMurry in 2003.
Last season, Davis coached the running back tandem of Leon Maxie
and Thurston Williams to 1,041 yards and 12 touchdowns.
In 2005, Davis played professionally for the Fayetteville Guard
of the National Indoor Football League. Davis received his bachelor’s
degree from LC in 2005 and resides in Pineville.

Justin Charles
Defensive Backs, Wildcat Football
3rd Year
Charles enters his second season as a coach for Louisiana College
after one of the most stellar defensive and kick return careers
in Louisiana College History. Charles, who finished his playing
career for LC in 2004, ranks second on LC’s all-time sack
list and fourth on the career tackles list. Charles’ five
career kickoff returns for touchdowns is an LC, ASC and Louisiana
collegiate record (all divisions). In 2004, Charles was selected
as first team All-ASC, and in 2001, Charles was a first team NCCAA
All-American.

Jeremy Desoto
Linebackers, Wildcat Football
2nd Year
Jeremy Desoto will coach the linebackers. Desoto finished his
playing career with LC in 2004. Desoto was a two-year starter at
linebacker and amassed 127 tackles during his career.

Ryan Gregory
Defensive Line, Wildcat Football
2nd Year
Gregory begins his second year as an assistant with the Wildcat
football team. Gregory, who was an All-Conference defensive lineman
for LC assisted Coach Buchanan with the defensive line last season.

Schuyler Anderson
Wide Receivers
1st Year
Anderson returns to the Louisiana College program where he was
an All-Conference performer for the Wildcats. Anderson will coach
the wide receivers, which is the position that he played for the
Wildcats. Anderson coached at Alexandria Senior High School last
year. Anderson holds several LC receving records and playd professionally
for the Corpus Christi Hammerheads.

Mike Moffett
Tight Ends
1st Year
Moffett begins his first year as a coach with for the Wildcat football
program. Moffett was a three-time Academic All-American Southwest
Conference performer as a fullback. Moffett will work with the tight
ends.
